Camping trip

Earlier this summer, when the weather was beautiful, we thought we would plan a 2 day yurt camping trip for the family. It was far too late in the season to secure a space in the summer, so we took the soonest available opening, October 3-5. Anyone reading this who has lived or lives in the PNW, will immediately scratch their head and wonder what we were thinking! The weather here can be sketchy in August, planning a trip in October is just silly. The weather was fantastic everyweekend prior, and up to Tuesday the week of, but low and behold, we were greeted with a torential downpour the entire weekend.

We started the trip out with a one night/two day stay at the Great Wolf Lodge, an indoor water park hotel, about 2 hours away. The girls had a blast (checkout the video, and watch the big bucket at the top of the contraption. Sue and the boy stayed home, as Sue wasnt feeling well, and we couldnt find anyone who would watch the beagle.

We cut short our camping trip by a day, and spent most of the time in the yurt playing games, but we had fun. The Cape Dissapoinment area was beautiful, despite the weather, and and we enjoyed standing where the Corps of Discovery stood and beheld the Pacific for the first time.
